| Do you think America is doing the right thing in the war against terrorism? This relates to everything America has done in the last couple years or so. Are we doing everything we can? Have we made mistakes? | ||||||||||||||

| That's a pretty loaded question. Overall I'm in support of the actions America has taken, but surely some mistakes have been made. I think the biggest mistakes that have been made are in the public relations area. Somehow the Bush adminsitration has removed an incredibly brutal regime that was the primarary host of terrorist groups (Taliban), destroyed the tyrranical regime of Saddam and company, rebuilt schools and hospitals in Iraq (something you don't here about on the news), and probably killed the world's top terrorist (Bin Laden), yet somehow is being labled as a miserable failure as a president and is being compared to Adolph Hitler. Clearly something went wrong. | ||||||||||||||

| I think the problem with the dealing with terrorists is they untertook is as there own little war. I know that. that is absolute crap but George simply said back me or go away because I'm going anyway, which gave this gun ho image of the US which didn't come across very well. As with Camp X Ray they should have done something to make it a little less brutal even though the terrorists don't deserve it, but public opinion is reknowned for being rather limp and pathetic over issues such as that, all that Human Rights crap, funny they never consider the victims human rights. ALso over Iraq, its the nukes which made them look like idiots despite all the good things they've done. | ||||||||||||||

| The reason that Bush has a blackeye with the war isn't because he removed a brutal dictator, it's because he lied in order to do it. Did anyone see on CSPAN this weekend the three CIA dudes testifying before the Senate Intelligence Committee? All three are registered Republicans who gave money to George Bush and voted for him in 2000. And all three were shocked at how the intelligence was used and abused for this war. They also stated that because of Americans actions in Iraq we've actually actively contributed to creating more terrorism and more problems then we had before. These questions were mainly about the Administrations leak of the CIA operative and all three agreed that the leak was done deliberately as an act of bullying towards the CIA because before the war they weren't giving them the information that they wanted. They said that the Vice President frequently came down to argue with the CIA Analysts which is something that they never have seen before and warned that it jeopardized the way intelligence is gathered, sought, and found in the future. One of the members of the CIA likened the leak to 9/11 where Americans were attacked and put into a vulnerable position. They also said that Ashcroft has no business investigating this business and a treatment much like Clinton is needed to find the truth of this. Very harsh words. I can't wait to hear the Conservative spin on all of this. | ||||||||||||||

| That's some pretty deep sh*t. I'll have to digest this before reactingl, since I've spent the weekend in a drunken haze. | ||||||||||||||

| Good point DDG. The US is a menace. The rest of the world should kick us out of the UN and impose trade sanctions on us. maybe even a military intervention would be in order. Liberate us! | ||||||||||||||
