However, the way the question is worded could mean that each house will have all numbers from 1 to 100, meaning that they'll need 2000 or 4000, depending on whether the 6's count. Rep Power: 24 | The way the question is stated, if he is left with an option, then the answer would have to be none not 40. How many "must" he buy then it can't be 20 or 40. because he doesn't HAVE to buy 40 9's and he doesn't HAVE to buy 20. He can simply buy none and get 40 6's. |
