I am sure you all heard by now about the Cell phone call after New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Horn got his second touchdown. He got a cell phone from the goal post and used the cell phone for Unsportsmanlike conduct.

$30,000 fine? WTF is that? Why can't players celibrate and have fun after a goal basket or TD? A basket ball player got a technical few days ago for hanging on the hoop. I think they should be allowed to do that kind of stuff.

I find it entertaining and to be honest, it doesn't stop them from doing it so why bother trying to stop it. A fine like that is stupid and is nothing to them. That was Joe Horn's 7th fine in 3 years and I hope he keeps doing stuff like that. It is entertaining and they deserve to showboat now and then.

Here is the link explaining the fine and about what happened incase you didn't hear about it.

Yeah, but he probably makes 30,000 thousand taking a dump in the lockerroom.

He'll probably get cell phone commercial deals now, too..all worth well over the 30,000.

I dont really have a problem with it. If he wants to look like a jackass, he should be able to act like one.

Bottom line is.....I respect guys like Barry Sanders and Jerry Rice. Good respectable players that dont feel the need to do all that bullshit after scoring a TD. I understand that its entertainment, But the bottom line is that it is their job to score TD's and to move the ball down the field.

I will always remember one Sunday Chris Berman asked Barry Sanders why he didnt have some goofy dance to celebrate a TD. His response "I like to act like I have been there before and I will be there again very soon"

I see nothing wrong with doing something like that. I like that one guy who signed a football after a touchdown a few times. Thats just funny. Why should he get fined?

the worst part about what joe horn did was that his team was assessed a 15-yard penalty because of it. It was still a relatively close game at the time (that TD made it 17-7 in the 2nd quarter), and that penalty could have helped the Giants score on their next drive if they werent so incredibly inept right now.

Plus, i just didnt think it was funny. And it's so contrived. anything that takes planning like that is not a good celebration. First of all, Horn assumed he would score a TD (he scored 4 in the game though...), then he assumed that if he did score, it would be in that end zone.

Basically, the question becomes, where does it stop? With an NFL player starting a bonfire in the end zone? Digging up Jimmy Hoffa's body in Giants stadium?

I liked the Terrell Owens sharpie thing, though.

What was really funny though, was what Chad Johnson did earlier in the day (which was overshadowed by Joe Horn). Johnson has been fined several times this year for end zone celebrations, so after he scored, he pulled a sign out from near the stands that read "Dear NFL, please dont fine me again". Now that was funny. And he did get fined for $10,000. But it made sense (since he had been fined several times already) and it was funny. The Joe Horn thing was just stupid.

The Owens and Johnson celebrations just mentioned, those were amusing. The Horn one was just re-hashed from the Sharpie incident.

I do think the NFL (No Fun League) comes way too strict for things like your socks falling down or illegaly-coloured mouthgards, but the fine on Horn was appropriate. There should be at least a little bit of class in the game of football, and the cell phone was just stupid.

The money should go to charities or something.

Everytime you celebrate in the endzone you have to give 100k to Unicef.
