Hey, do you kids like abortion?

Since we've coved gayness and cocaine, I think we should now talk about abortion.

I can't think of anything that would liven this place up more than the discussion of the death of millions of unborn children!

How do you feel about it? Should abortion be illegal? Is it killing? If it is, does it matter?

I'm for it, but perhaps not as strongly as I feel on many other issues. While it should be illegal and I don't frown down on anyone for taking that option, I do think that if I ever got a chic pregnant and she aborted it I'd feel pretty bad.

But a pregnancy can ruin a girls shot at a real life, and if that's what they want to do they should do it. Any male who looks down on a female for getting an abortion is just an ignorant self righteous prick.

I'm all for it. My big argument is rape victims that become impregnated. It's not fair for them to have to have the child.

I agree with skinartia. The only people who should be allowed to have abortions are women who were raped. Women who are impregnated while having consensual sex should have to suffer the consequences and should not be able to abort. They always have the option of giving the baby up for adoption if they do not want it.

Talk about taking my statement to the extreme, Hyde. I don't think it should only be available for women who were raped.

I mean, if there was contraceptive used & the chick got pregnant but didn't want the kid, I think she should still be able to get an abortion.

Now, using abortion as a means of contraceptive should NOT be allowed or tolerated. If a chick keeps coming in like every couple of months or so for an abortion, that should not be tolerated. However, the downside to that is she could find other unhealthy ways to abort the kid.

I am pro-choice. I think girls should have the right to abort if they want. But the man should have a say in it. Rape is a good reason to have it legal, but I think many girls that have sex who do use protection and get pregnant can't handle having a kid. I mean, parents are supposed to take care of their kids, but if they are too young or can not afford it, they should be able to abort. Yes they can give it up for adoption, but we all hear on the news about kids being abused in foster care and adoptive homes. And I don't think it's fair for the kid to come in to this world, and just sent off to another family. I know if I got a girl pregnant I'd probably want it, but I am not ready for a kid now. So ultimately I am not sure what my decision would be. I can say I'd keep it all I want, but when the moment comes, I may just change my mind. My mother had an abortion when she was younger, I'm not sure if it was after my older brother or after me. But after she had the abortion she found out it was twins, she only thought it was one kid. She said if she knew it was twins she would have kept it. But at the time she couldn't handle having another kids, and it was kind of more my dad's decision to get it.

I'm not entirely sure what country you come from, I thought it was America, but here there are over 2 million families looking to adopt here in America. These are 2 million qualified families and couples who have gone through the screening process.

Many of the children who are abused are the ones who go through foster care. More often then not, these kids were given up for adoption in a later part of their life. I remember a kid who lived by me was put up for adoption. His parents were a bit abusive, but so was he...thats why he got put in a foster home to begin with.

When you put a baby up for adoption you can have certain options. For instance, you can request pictures and newsletters from your babies family, which, of course, would allow you to know how your child is doing throughout it's life and probably would limit any kind of abuse.

How come pro choice is death for the baby? Abortion is the easy way out for a majority of people who do it. It represents an immoral and weak society when we cannot care for our children and have to kill them in order to survive. Is it really worth it?

It shows the low value of life most people have.

That's a pretty harsh stand point, Miakal, but I can understand it.

If I had gotten pregnant by my ex, I would have gone through with an abortion immediately. Neither one of us were nearly ready to have a child financially or emotionally. I wouldn't be able to give my kid up for adoption because it would hurt me too much. And of course someone's going to say something like, "Well it's easier for you to kill it then?" No, it wouldn't be any easier.

If at least one of the people involved can care for the kid or they are willing to put up their kid for adoption, then that's cool. Yay for that couple.
