You could ask him "Why do you want to kill me?" that's neither the truth or a lie, since its the next thing you said, you could say anything you want from there I guess.

I'd whip out one of my lock-blade knives & throw it at him without saying a word...I have very good aim with knife throwing.

Then, while he's bleeding, I'd say, "You? Kill ME?! Ha, good luck with that one, buddy."
