Well I mean lets look at this realistically, there are scientists that study chemistry, biology and many other fields and they may have nothing to do with the medical field. So not all scientists are concerned with finding a cure for cancer. Some of them are more interested in marine life. If you expect a marine biologist to discover a cure for any human disease then it just isn't going to happen.

As far as angleing being banned, I wouldn't like to see that at all. I am an avid fisherman and I love it. You can't tell me that hunters are not hurting animals when they shoot them, atleast a lot of fish are released after they are caught. Thats better then being killed.

Well, DUH!!! Obviously fish can feel pain. What the #### made people think they couldn't? 'cause they don't scream in agony when they get a hook in their mouth. Jeebus, it took somebody this fuckin' long to figure it out. I'm bewildered at that fact.

As crazy as you may find it this debate has gone back and forth for years. Scientists are always finding evidence that fish feel pain and that they don't. I don't know that their nerve endings run the same way that other animals do so it is difficult to determine. I can bet you within a month or two there will be an article saying they don't feel pain.

Cold blooded animals feel pain different and I am pretty sure that fish are cold blooded. Than again, I am stupid.

Also, who is to say that the research with fish could not be used for medical purposes? Certainly, research with has to do with nerve endings and pain can have some connection with that of humans. Many scientific discoveries have come from shared work in unlikely places.

As they say, knowledge is power.
