Do any Americans ever feel a sense of shame for what we have done for the Native Americans?

It's funny how some people still make remarks about Indians after we've put them through absolute slaughter.

Yes DMW, but the land and life you know is the result of the death of millions of Indians.

My answer's is still no. I'm not going to feel shame for something that happened a couple hundred years ago between people that had no relation to me. The life I live is because of the hard work of my parents, not because some Indians died.

Yes, and there is a correlation between your parents having an opportunity and the death of Indians, though.

I find it hilarious that a nation can steal a country from one race... go on to enslave another.. and then dub it the Land of the Free.

And to Say that it was many years ago and not now important isnt entirely true. It still goes on.. but not through slaughter.. through the 'legal' system instead

My parents built their lives in Britain, not the US, my Dad just happened to get transfered here right before I was born. My life would have been different in Britain, but not worse.

Too much shitty stuff has happened in the past to feel shame for it all. I'm no more related to this than countless other shitty things that have happened throughout human history.

thats how i feel. it sucks for the native americans, but its in the past, and if there was something i could do to change it, i would. but i cant, so theres no use getting worked up about it. i had nothing to do with happened, and nobody in my family did. eventually, you have to move on.
