Indian Casinos don't do much in terms of helping a tribe. Look at the reservation and then look at the "chief"...there's a huge difference.

The Indians didn't just lose a war. Did your jar-headed Marine friend mention to you that we gased the Indians with chemicals (and the people who did this have towns named after them, btw) forced them into concentration camps, and out and out lied to them time after time? We promised them money and then land, then took it away and forced them to move to a shittier locale. We didn't give them the right to join our country, and that's a stupid ####ing option anyway.

There in itself you've made a case that the Indian way of life isn't equitable, and that the tribal governing systems on which it is based is unfair. Hence the reservations themselves should be disbanded, the corrupt casino profits turned over to the state, and the Native Americans assimilated into society, no?

I think the Indian Casinos should be stopped. I firmly believe that Indians have the right to hunt and fish whatever they wish to, though.

The only reason the tribal form of government doesn't work is because white people thought the way to "pay back" for the misdeeds we have done to them was to throw a huge wad of money at their leaders. Money causes corruption for everyone.

They should pay taxes, but I would fully support free medical and college education for them.

Oh its all true.. If this was a thread about the UK then i would have said similar things. I just replied to the topic at hand, in no way did I say our country was any better, or less guilty of appauling deeds.

we tried explaining that to him, but he wouldnt listen to us. If you've ever known any marines (i've known a couple), they're fairly brainwashed (seemingly more than other military personnel I've met)

and about the joining our country thing, i think he meant in more recent times. Obviously, asking to join while we're knowingly infecting them with smallpox and taking their land and sh*t like that is stupid
