Rep Power: 7 ![]() | [quote:post_uid0]I find it hilarious that a nation can steal a country from one race... go on to enslave another.. and then dub it the Land of the Free.[/quote:post_uid0] And I love it how a nation that once conquered and exploited about 60% of the world, pirated the resources of so many poor tribal countries that will never recover, perpetuated the slave trade, trafficked huge amounts of opium, tobacco and liquor to the point where it became a cash crop that has stricken the world with many types of addiction, slaughtered millions in its own right and still to this day oppresses a neighboring island, has the f*cking [b:post_uid0]BALLS[/b:post_uid0] to comment on America's historic misdeeds. [quote:post_uid0]And to Say that it was many years ago and not now important isnt entirely true. It still goes on.. but not through slaughter.. through the 'legal' system instead [/quote:post_uid0] [b:post_uid0]Kettle:[/b:post_uid0] Hey Pot, how's it going? Looking a little dark today, huh? Rep Power: 6 ![]() | I love it, how history proclaims Columbus as the person to discover America. How can you discover someplace that is already inhabited? Besides, the Vikings "discovered" America before Columbus. And before that, the Native Americans are not native themselves. They crossed over from Asia through a land bridge formed from ice over the Pacific ocean to Alaska. Then they traveled down through Canada to America. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | And let's not forget the cavemen, and the apes they evolved from, and the primitive mammals that apes evolved from, and the microorganisms that those evolved from. This world belongs to microorganisms and we have ROBBED THEM OF IT. But you never hear people crying about microorganisms or apes, do you? What about their rights??? They discovered the EARTH, and we put them under microscope slides, feed them bananas and make up bad cartoons about them. You want injustice, you got it right there, brother. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Bike, you completely missed my point. I was being sarcastic. Pubu was talking about "well who came first" and I followed it to its illogically logical conclusion. I just find it hysterical how the US gets beaten up over slavery and our treatement of the native americans - which of course was ignorant and terrible - while their own countries (including Canada - let's not forget the whole French and Indian war, where French Canadians killed their fair share) have demons of the past that are in some cases even worse. |

Rep Power: 42 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i agree with sader...and the main point is that it is stuff that happened [b:post_uid0]in the past[/b:post_uid0]. Im not trying to say that what happened to Indians and Africans should be forgotten, but people today should not be held accountable. should we keep blaming Germans for the Holocaust? That happened much more recently than slavery and manifest destiny. on a side note, its funny that this thread got started today, because on monday night me and a bunch of my friends got into a discussion about this, and one of my friends (who was a Marine, so will whole-heartedly defend the U.S. no matter what) was saying "it was a war, the Indians lost, and they lost their land. Thats what happens in war. we gave them a chance to join our country, they refused, so now they have reservations where they can live, not pay taxes, and not enjoy the benefits our government provides us with" I dont agree with him at all, i just think its interesting that the military man seemed to have a very jaded outlook on the situation | |

At least Vegas is blatantly honest in the fact that it is a glorious cesspit of greed, sin and rabid tiger-mauling entertainment. Edited By Drunksader on Nov. 05 2003 at 6:34 |
