Does anyone actually click these things to find out more about a product?

Does anyone click these things when the owner of a site requests you do it for more revenue?

To me they are a total waste of time and effort. Ive never clicked an ad in my life. They are annoying and in some cases deter me from using certain sites. When i read a newspaper or something I dont want someone sticking an adverisment infront of the page im reading.. so why should I tolerate it on web sites?

I know you can get those pop up killer programs and stuff but why should we have to? The internet advertising industry is at an all time low.. and no one that I know clicks them. so what is the point?

I remember some pop-up ads I would click. For instance, that one with the monkey that you had to shoot. I'd always shoot his ass. Of course, it was super easy (that was the point).

Sometimes if you are on a site you'll get pop-ups that relate to that site. I was looking at flight tickets and I would get pop-ups for other sites. Sometimes I would click on them just to see if the rate was any different.

The same thing goes for hotel rates.

So yes, I guess sometimes I do click on them. However, I never just click on something that has nothing to do with what I'm looking at. I'm on the net for a purpose (typically pre-teen pornography), and I keep on with that.

Have you ever clicked a pop up on a porn site? I did it once and had about 60 things pop up at once.

Yes, that's horrible.

I remember when I first started going on the internet I was like 16-17 and was constantly looking at porn (unlike now, where it only takes up a fraction of my freetime).

Anyway, I clicked on a pop-up and eight thousand other pop-ups came on and suddenly I heard my mother coming into the room. I shut off the monitor and quickly reached around and shut off the power as well.

It's bad. Typically you can't click out of it. And sometimes each time you click out of one two-three more will appear.

Im sure Microsoft was thinking of Porn users when they introduced the 'Close Group' option on the taskbar in XP.

Never clicked on them and never really got any pop-up blocker until now. I only got it because it was a google one, so It can search things for me and do other stuff well. Also you can let it show you pop-ups on certain sites. I got it quite rcently and so far it has blocked 1297 pop-ups!

No. I never click on them... When I get SPAM, I sometimes respond to the e-mail and threaten to hunt them down and break their necks if they e-mail me again. They never respond.

ctrl+w closes the pop up. Comes in handy if you get those string of pop ups that seem to never stop.
