Rep Power: 6 ![]() | [quote:post_uid0="Mister D"]mr. millions, i think theres a little confusion here. the song of solomon i read was a novel by Toni Morrison[/quote:post_uid0] lol, holy cow, I'm dumb... somehow all the talk of poetry got me confused... and then your post talked about the Song of Solomon, which is a poem/book in the Old Testament. Sorry for the confusion. |

Rep Power: 11 ![]() | I just finished reading Catch 22 for the umpteenth time, it's probably one of my favourite books of all time. Other favourites include Fear and Loathing (one of those cool books Sader speaks of) and LotR, though I haven't read either for a while. I had to read To the Lighthouse recently for my lit class, it was freaking awful. Awful, awful, painful, and awful. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Im currently reading A song of Ice and Fire (book 3 part 2). By George RR Martin, if you like lord of the rings you'll love this, in my opinion its much better, but ill probably get flamed for that. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() | I read Stupid White Men like last month, the first chapter was the only thing that didnt waste my time. Beyond that there was a few little ninklings, jokes, some decent stuff, big waste of time. I feel kinda like a Stupid White Man after reading it. I hate reading books that are too popular and new, it makes me feel like a ####ing idiot who wants to pretend he knows everything about literature and modern non-fiction, when I know sh*t. But Im currently reading Margaret Atwood's "A Handmaid's Tale" which (Surprisingly) is pretty damn good. The main character's personality is laid down really, really well, and that intrigues me. I re-read MacBeth over the summer and now Im contrasting it with Antony and Cleopatra which I finished reading, yesterday actually. MacBeth is a great book, as is Antony and Cleopatra, comparing them is easy because they're quite similar (In basic terms). A+C kinda lacked at the end, I guess you cant really expect the "Bang!" ending when youre reading Shakespeare. |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | Stupid White Men is the biggest pile of half-truths, exaggerations and flat out lies I have ever read. I read it out of morbid curiosity and it reaffirmed all the feelings I already had about Michael Moore. Currently reading A Long Short War by Cristopher Hitchens. You should check it out Miakal, I think you'd enjoy it. ::skinartia:: |
