Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Tony Blair is at it again. Most of the country dont want to adopt the euro as our currency. But Tony Blair Does. The only thing is he wont let the public vote on the matter.. he thinks it is up to him and his party to decide. He wont let us vote on it because he knows we will throw it out. This guy just keeps pissing on the public... The Fuel Strikes Raises of 6 Billion pounds on 68 different taxes even though they promised no Raises The War The David Kelly incident Now the Euro Minimal increase on pensions although larger increases were promised. The only thing keeping this guy in power is the lack of opposition. Well thats whats goin on this end of the pond.. how has George Bush treated amercans? Has be backed out on any promises made? Has he lost a nations trust like Blair? |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | What are Blairs reasons for not joining the Euro? The EU economy looks to have a promising future and it's something I would think Britain would want to be a part of. Forgive my ignorance in regards to British politics, but is Tony Blair from the Labour Party over there? Also, isn't that the liberal party? |

Rep Power: 18 ![]() | Yeah, Blair is liberal...that's why it's strange that he got so dazzled by the rhythm of the war drums. I think the Brits are afraid of the Euro because the Euro will in effect unite much of Europe on a bunch of different levels, not just currency. From what I've read if the Brits accept the Euro in a few years it will be worth more then the dollar. I'm also interested to hear the arguments about this. It seems if the Euro were to become so powerful it would be foolish not to accept it into Britain. |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() | My family is British, Welsh to be precise, and they all seem to have a disdain for the rest of Europe and refer to traveling to France as traveling to Europe, like they aren't part of it. I don't know if this is a prevailing attitude throughout the UK, but I guess that might be some people's reasoning for not wanting the Euro. |

Rep Power: 11 ![]() | What's wrong with getting rid of the Queen? She's useless, she gets money for doing jack all. I wouldn't mind the Royal Family so much If they like spent the money we give them on Charities and sh*t, but other than that they're useless and just something to keep the tourists coming and make the UK a bit unique. | |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | The reason that we act like we arent part of europe is because we dont want to be. The fact we've been to war with pretty much every other country and we harbour resentment towards them is probably the main reason (e.g. we all hate the frogs and the Germans) Why should we join the euro anyway? Its not like we're on the main land of europe so we have people travelin round a lot, coz we dont. Also, its goina be a lot of hassle with the coke machines. |
