Could you save a life

So say you're walking down the street and someone just keels over right there in front of you.

Would you know the basics of how to try and save their life? Would you know what to look for?

Or would you just take their mobile phone (I'm looking in your directions Rambo and Necro)?

Obviously they would be taking the phone to call emergency services!!

Other than airway, breathing, circulation, I wouldn't be much use really. I know to get the heart going again you have to really go for it with the compressions til you nearly keel over yourself.

No, I don't know the basics, so really I'm not sure if I would be of help. I learned the basics in high school and it was such bullshit. We had quite the few cute girls in that class, you'd think they'd let us try on them, but instead we had to use these crappy dummies.

Anyway, I passed all the tests no problem but I couldn't be arsed to remember any of it.

Nah...But having not done any First Aid shizzle in my life, I'm gonna go ahead and guess I would be able to do very little and would basically hope it was a busy street and that there was someone much more qualified to help out than me.

I used to be able to do cpr but i dont remember any of it now. at work i always got to think if some guy collapses on the bus and shit. but if it ever happened i just call up the dispatcher and they send an ambulance so im not going to worry about it.

Working in a hospital environment in the past, and now working in 16 different hospitals on any given week, I was and remain CPR certified.

I've only had to use it once but yes I would save a life.

I would expect no less of someone if I were in dire straits as well.

Well Im first aid qualified, have to be in my job but I live in constant terror of actually having to use it cause I just cant remember most of it. I know the basics but there is just so much to learn and so many different conditions that Im scared I'd do the wrong thing. But Id at least try!
