Ouch

During football freshman year I had two helmets go into both sides of my knee. My kneecap split in half, and was actually sitting on the right side of my leg instead of the middle. It was pretty crazy

I've never had anything that bad.

Most i've had is above my eye cut open and stitches for it but that was when i was 2.

Appart from that, nothing.

And that picture is hilarious.

In his book A Year At the Movies, Mystery Science Theatre 3000 writer/performer Kevin Murphy describes his ordeal with a kidney stone: "Being gut-stabbed with a dirty spoon in a prison cafeteria is less painful."

Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer has also suffered from Kidney Stones, when asked about it he stated "I don't wish that on anyone."

Symptoms can include acute flank pain (renal colic), nausea and vomiting, restlessness, dull pain, hematuria, and possibly fever if infection is present. Acute renal colic is described as one of the worst types of pain that a patient can suffer.

Apparently kidney stones is the male equivilent of child birth. Sounds fantastic.

When I had cancer, it hurt like a bitch. Within about 3 weeks it had eaten away almost my entire left femur, and I used to lay awake screaming most nights, it hurt so bad. I had my surgury less than 2 days after diognosis, and they basically had to carve out the entire bone (it's a pretty damn thick bone). Then I had to wait for it to regrow, which took forever, 2 months in bed, and then another 6 on crutches. It was no fun at all for an 11 year old.

Worst self inflicted pain? I have broken so many bones I can hardly remember. I fell off playing on a treadmill and broke my collarbone. Have had so many stitches it's ridiclous.

The worst might have been when I screwed up landing a trick snowboarding, and ended up hitting my head. I got a concussion, whiplash, and bit my lip pretty bad.

You had cancer? Jesus I could never imagine going through that, especially at such a young age. I have a new found respect for you, although I respected you before this, but goddamn...

Taking a line drive to the face pitching. The initial hit didn't hurt that bad, but nothing really does when you're in a shock. The days and weeks after though hurt like hell. It pretty much crushed every bone on the left side of my face. I had swelling in my cheek for over a month and a bruise under/around my eye for about a year.

I wish I could figure out how fast that ball was moving too. The best I can figure is that I used to throw about 70MPH, and then an aluminum bat and the kid absolutely crushing that ball it had to be at least 100MPH. I'm a pretty big fan of wooden bats being used in Little League and college now.
