Rep Power: 71 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() gXboxLive Leaderboard: 36th | The Rich vs. The Poor and my endless rant about the world today Some things in life really get on my nerves. Here is one of the absolute biggest things. Please bear with me as I tend to totally go off point when discussing things that really bug me. The Rich vs. The Poor. I recently watched a show "30 Days" by the guy that did Supersize me. Basically one person does something for 30 days to see what its like in that persons shoes. So this one guy was talking about how he got outsourced at his computer company. They had sold his department to an Indian corporation. To make a long story short, this guy was pissed that he job left America. His new assignment for his "30 Days" was to get a job at the company in India which he just lost his job at. Stanley Morgan was the company. (just came to me) Basically what happened was he saw the absolute piss poor conditions that these people had to live in and how demorcracy was starting to creep into the Indian culture, but thats not really the point of this thread. This one man that was the head of the buildings janitoral services was living in a little shack with 6 other people. The shack was about 300 square feet and dirty as hell. He was a manager of 60 people. Ok. So basically here is my point after getting all that out there...... The Indian fellow that got the Americans old job is making about 1/3 of the Americans salary $1,300 month. The American lost his job and has to get a new job most likely paying less than he was previously able to get. The CEO of that company pours in more money from the Indian relocation. Then we get into Hollywood and Sports in America. And before I get on this rant, let me make it very clear. If someone was willing to pay me 20 million bucks to play a game, I would be an idiot to turn it down. My concern is what these people do with the money after they recieve it. Manny Ramirez makes 22 MILLION dollars a year to play a game. Vin Baker, now retired from basketball, has been paid 7 million dollars a year from the Celtics for the past 3 years. He hasnt been on the team in 3 years. Adam Sandler makes 20 million a movie. CEO, Presidents and Vice Presidents of Corporations make multiple millions of dollars a year, then they get bonuses. Basically when I see that Manny makes more in 3 innings of baseball than the average American income for an entire year it really makes me sick. Look at Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans looks like it had a devastating hurricane last week, not last year. How about the sick/poor people in Africa or the Middle East? I would just love to see Hollywood rally together and rebuild that city. It would hardly make a dent in their fat ass wallets. These people make SOOOOOOOOOOO much money that its becomes humorous for them to show off their extravagence while some little 2 year old kid in Africa dies of starvation. Without the general pubic, there is no one to see these movies they get paid so much to be in, or the sporting event that we all pay $100 dollars a ticket for. (not to mention the 6 dollar beers, 5 dollar pretzels and 4 dollar waters) I just in the end its all our faults as well. Collectively this country cares more about if Angelina and Brad are on speaking terms with Jennifer Aniston than the terrific work they do for people in need. Basically, what I am trying to say is the Rich feed off the poor to middle class and then piss on their heads when they are done with them and it really makes me sick. By the way, has anyone seen Paris Hiltons new hair-do? It's totally HOT !!

Most people that know me in real life are probably thinking when that read that "What? Dan? Yeah right" But it's true, it's damn true. I also wouldn't mind becoming a vigilantie taking down bad cops, but that would probably get my ass killed so I wont go there girlfriend.

Rep Power: 45 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, the big misconception is that I think ball players and actors get paid too much. I really don't think they get paid too much because their bosses get paid a hell of a lot more then they do. I think they deserve every penny.. However, it's our fault because we feed into this shit. Look at Britney Spears. She's a complete fucking moron, if someone wasn;t watching her money, you can bet it'd be pissed away by now.. but who's fault is it that she's got all that money? It's ours.. We buy their shitty music and we for some reason care about who she dates or fucks. Honestly, there really isn't a way I can see to fix it. These people aren't nearly educated enough to figure out ways they can help society with their money. Instead of donating to what they want, they make their own little foundation to be like, "Hey look, I'm doing something for the public" and then the rest of the time they donate only to the people they get told to donate to.. ..but that begs the question, what are we supposed to do? Even if you aren't poor, just middle class or upper middle class, you have to watch movies, you have to watch tv, you have to do certain shit just to entertain yourself after a 8 or 10 hour shift. If we didn't have these things to entertain ourselves what would we do? We aren't cavemen. We were raised on the television and other forms of entertainment.. Besides Sex, we don't know how else to have fun but watch sports, listen to music, whatever.. I wouldn't know where to begin to start fixing these issues.

I can see the internet killing a lot of how much people in movies and music make now since people just download everything now and the sales aren't good. The thing with sports though is the owners got so much money and everyone wants to win they'll just pay a ridiculous amount to sign somebody and then they just jack up all the prices to pay the contract and then people will continue to go to the games no matter what. There is really nothing that can be done since the trends of paying a ton has started there is no way they will go back and take less money. The thing i hate too is when these rich people tell us to donate money to these charities. When they got more money than about a whole block combined yet they are too jewish to open up their wallets. The way I look at it is, play the lottery, then you too can become filthy rich.

I think he's worth like $40 billion, and he decided he's going to give $37 billion to charity. That still leaves plenty of money for him and family, but thats still a LOT of money to give to charity. That was really really admirable of him. By the way, it's Morgan Stanley, not Stanley Morgan. Just clarifying
