Do you like to do it? I personally enjoy it quite a bit. Simple things, nothing ever malicious I suppose. I work in Boston next to a homeless shelter, battered womens shelter and a drug rehab all within 50 yards on any direction.Now you kinda have to make it clear that you cant keep hooking these people up with smokes, change, food etc etc. They are ALWAYS out there, and they simply never remember people. I try to get them TO remember me, so I dont have to be asked for shit all the time. ( like literally 10 people could ask you for shit in a 2 block walk to the store)When someone sees me smoking a cigarette and they ask me for one my response is usually "I don't smoke" More often than not, they can't process that I am being a smartass and they get all mad "You're smokinig one right now". Then I will say "Oh I got it off that guy" And point to some random person that they then go chasing down. I just love the quizical look on their faces when I say that. You can literally hear the last few brain cells pop if you listen closely. Then there is this other guy that is a scam artist. He is a cyrstal meth guy I believe. He has this BIG elaborate story about how his car got towed with his wallet inside etc etc. Can he get 5 bucks to help get to "Southie" (even though he could walk in 20 minutes if it was legit) where his car got towed. I actually fell for it the first time, and was SOOOOO fucking mad the 2nd time when he came up to me with the same shit. Anyway. He remembers me now because the last 3 times he approached me with this story I have given him "Oh Southie, hey I am heading there right now. Hop in." (he then quickly walks away without saying a word)or"For the love of god man. Come up with a new story"but my favorite is when just as he is about to start talking to me, I do his lines and he just laughs and is like "I need a new location"On a side note, I heard him tell someone he gets 200 bucks a day scamming people on the streets. I have followed him around before and seen at least 10 people in the course of a half hour give him dollar biills. Crazy

I wish I could do things like that. I am not quite that bold. If someone asks me for money I usually just tell them I don't have any on me at the moment, or I don't have change. I don't smoke so I don't have to worry about them asking for cigarettes.

lol Well, I'm forever telling people I don't have any money.. sometimes it can be true but it's just irritating when it's always the same people and they always just blow right through their money.. It's like jesus man.. Of course they'll come over and be like how the hell did you get that new video game or whatever? I just tell them my mom bought it for me.
I always just say I dont smoke, which is true, or I dont have any change. It irritates me when they get mad at you, I worked for my money, you havent and youre getting mad at me for not just handing it over? WTF??

When I was walking to class one day this homeless guy asked me for some change. Well I usually carry around a silver dollar, I don't know why really but I do, and I wasn't going to give that to him. So I took out all the change I had and picked the silver dollar out of it and told him he could have all that was left. Then he asked "What did you do, pick the quarters out?"
WTF? Beggers can't be choosers.

Oh but they are these days. We have these 2 druggies who stand outside work and always come in asking to use our phone, We let them the first time cause were nice like that, but then when it started becoming 4 times a day, every day, we said enough was enough and stopped letting them. They went straight outside and got their mobiles out! Some of them are just so god damn cheeky, it infuriates me!

I don't fuck with people usually when im in the bus I just ignore them. Cuz the only time i ever see them is then. And my garage is right down the street from the Pine Stret Inn(homeless shelter) and once in a while I got to walk by to get over and take the Train to another part of the city to work if im not out of the garage but they usually have 1 or 2 people come ask me for butts and i just say im out. So far I've only given one homeless guy a buck but thats it. If i did the shit everyday I'd be broke.

I usually just say "sorry mate." Most of the time I find that they're less likely to be pissed at you, because you haven't totally ignored them. I'm quit willing to give change to someone who begs, sitting at the side, and not actually asking you for money. That way is actually legal, while badgering people for money isn't.
