How important is having new shit?

Weird question maybe.. but really, I've given it some thought.. A lot of people spend their lives acquiring things, material things.. houses, cars, to a lesser degree DVDs and shit like that.. Hey, I do all of the above myself, it's nice to have new shit. I always say that, it's nice to have new shit, but in the grand scheme of things.. I guess it's really not all that important is it?

Maybe I should save more money for more important things, but I never will.. So why am I making this thread? I dunno.. I guess to prove to myself when I look back on it how much of an idiot I really am.

Yeah, but what are 'more important things' ? I often wonder whether I should save my money for better things but whats the point in saving your money if you dont know what youre going to do with it? If you have a goal in mind then great, but if not, spend it while you can - you cant take it with you!

Nah, I know.. More important things.. hmm.. I guess I'm thinking for medical maybe or if you have kids one day.. I dunno really. I just spend a ton of cash on things that I look back on like, "Why the hell did I buy that?" lol..

I don't really buy a lot of new things. I still drive the old truck that my dad bought me. I don't really have a dvd collection or a cd collection.

I just don't buy a lot things.

For me, not really. Not that materialistic. If I need it I'll get it. Otherwise I'll save or spend the dough on something worthwhile.

I'm a freaking mooch for new shit, especially the stuff that has really shiny advertising. I'm like a damn autistic kid when I see shiny stuff.
