I heard he was looked at 6 months ago for talks of suicide bombings by this guy, and nothing was done.
Whether or not he is alive, they should look at it like a possible terrorist attack. And, I'm not saying that to stroke the fear of anyone, but if he was on websites that talked about it, and posted for/against it, it shouldn't really matter. He still went onto a military base and killed other soldiers. I think it explains itself.

On the news they were speculating - so take it with a grain of salt - that he was probably on his rampage so that he could do as much damage to the US soldiers without feeling forced to kill his people.
My thing is, and I also got this from the news, the government/military paid for him to go to medical school so he could become a doctor. He was called up to serve his end of the agreement, and thought that killing himself - and others - was the better way to go. Now, I'm not a big proponent of the war, etc., but I still think that's a very cowardly thing to do.

I heard he had all ready served at least one tour of duty in Iraq and was really upset that he was re-deployed there again.

That may be true, and I just didn't post it. Sorry about that.
If that's the case, then there's a whole other set of issues that need to be dealt with, like people serving multiple terms of duty (outside of those that signed up for them). But, that still doesn't excuse him from doing what he did.

I totally agree. Nothing excuses what he did. But I do hope that this does bring some attention to the multiple terms of duty issue.
I believe if someone serves one term, they shouldn't have to go back if they don't want too. It should be optional.

I would agree with that, also. First tour = mandatory. Second+ tours = optional. But, I have a feeling that if they were to implement that option, it betters the chances of a possible Draft in the future.

Re: Fort Hood - Twelve killed, including gunman; 31 wounded
When you sign up your ass is owned for 8 years no matter what, you have no choice. It was his choice to join the army, so if he's deployed more than once, he should expect it. I'm not saying it's right, but thats how it is, thats the reality of the situation. Senseless act of cowardice on his part, and it should be dealt with properly. No slap on the wrist
Re: Fort Hood - Twelve killed, including gunman; 31 wounded
A "slap on the wrist" is totally out of the question on this one. If he's dead, then there's nothing more that can really be done. If he's alive, court and going to prison are the most likely things to happen. Hell, they should find out his reasonings behind it first and then have him executed. Just my opinion.

Re: Fort Hood - Twelve killed, including gunman; 31 wounded
It's a military thing so he won't get executed. He would (if still alive) do hard time in Leavenworth. I haven't kept up on this because frankly I'm just numb to the shit. However it was brought up about the connection of the two shootings that happened in two days between me and a couple of people at school.
