How is the economy affecting you?

It took me forever to find a job and right now I'm a dog bather which pays hardly anything and has no benefits. Although I think I'm better off than the girl I work with because of the fact that I still live at home and don't have much to pay for. Her on the other hand has everything to pay for.

I haven't had a $#%^@#$ raise in over a year!

Other than that, just more work in order to keep our stakeholders happy. By stakeholders, I mostly mean the bank.

I have taken advantage of some things the economy has presented. I bought a helluva lot of stock in oversold companies. I now have a person renting my house that I own, and I've invested some money in the company I work for.

The economy hasn't been a huge factor for me just yet, however i have been more frugal about how i spend my money.

Eh, I don't care. I barely scrape by, but I'll buy what I want as long as it's reasonable and not wasteful

The only way that the economy has affected me is that I didn't get my yearly raise this year. However, the goddamn city officials felt the need to create two new divisions within the city that was not needed and hired three new people due to nepotism. These three people who have no college background nor do their jobs have any impact on the city whatsoever make more money than I do and I have a fucking MBA.... Thank God, that the people of this city finally voted those "great" leaders out of office so maybe this city will have some decent people in charge to bring in more jobs. But whatever, the sooner I'm given my orders to ship out I'm leaving this fucking hell hole.

Sorry for the mini rant.

Not at all, we've always been cheap as dirt, haha. Maybe if I were actually looking for a job I'd know if it were affecting me or not, but at the moment I don't think it is.

It's not. My family still makes the same amount of money and nobody has been laid off. Except, my dad is expected to be out of a job in 3 years because he reads the electricity meters (on the side of the house) and those are starting to be computerized. Only thing affecting me directly is I can't find a job.

It made getting a new job tough, but I was able to eventually find a great one. It did make the decision of leaving full time employment for an internship with a chance of employment. But that worked out well.

Well I was laid off from a very good job in February, but I was lucky enough to find another at the end of April. It's affecting the business I'm in now though, so I'm starting to worry if I'll get laid off again. Ah well... I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Life has effected me more than the economy. I don't work in a recession proof industry by any means, but we've survived and are coming out the other side now.

As for life, things will get better in a couple of years
