I was talking to my cousin on the phone the other day, and he came out with the rather bizarre statement that most people cheat on their partners. He said something like "at least 80% of people cheat, and those who don't are either too insecure or just don't get the chances". He didn't get this stat from anywhere, it was merely an estimate on his part.
Obviously this is a ludicrous statement, but how common do you think cheating really is? Have you ever cheated? Would you ever cheat if the right situation came about?

If you ask me you cheat on someone because you ARE insecure not the other way around. You cheat because you don't like what's going on or obviously the other person isn't making you happy enough. If you are happy with the person why cheat?
As for me I've never had a boyfriend to cheat on and he would only have to do it once to me because it would be the end of it.

Also I think he's underrating most people's character, and love itself. I know if I had a girlfriend I would NEVER cheat and those who do are reprehensible characters.

To be fair alot of people have said "oh I'd never cheat" but sometimes the heat of the moment is just enough to break them down. I'm not saying I agree w/cheating but you just don't know until you have had a gf or is put in that situation.

This is correct tbh. I have cheated aint gonna lie. Biggest mistake of my life. I was one of the people that would say "Nah i would never cheat on my girl" but if your alone with someone & there are feelings there anything can happen. Saying you will never cheat is one of those things that is pretty easy to say until your put in that situation. A lot of people have cheated or at least though about it once in their life but never actually done it. Good on them tbh.

Thats what im trying to bring to his attention. Hell like I said I contemplated it once when I was with this old friend of mine and she was pulling every move but someone called and I had to leave.
The real question for everyone is, would you cheat if you knew you wouldn't get caught??

Never done it myself (though there were points where I had the urge to >_>) but a fair amount of my mates, both girls and boys, have done so. Most just carried on with their relationship... I think at this stage in life (say, 16-22) it doesn't matter that much because most people just want to have fun rather than have some epic serious relationship.
