It hasn't meant nothing to me in years. I usually worked on Halloween, and this year I will be volunteering with the fall carnival for my AITP club. Shouldn't be to bad though.
I think Halloween is cool. I haven't gone pilfering for goodies for a few years now, but I've handed out candy and whatnot. I dressed up as Sting the one year. Facepaint, jacket, wiffleball bat and all. Answering the door and just staring at the little kids and handing them candy without saying a word. Awesome.
Now though, I'm mostly into watching the dumbass horror movies on tv that aren't as scary as they are amusing. Kind of hoping that a party pops up that I can get in on. I smell a Captain Jack Sparrow costume brewing if one does >_>.

Re: What does Halloween mean to you?
When you dressed up as sting - did the kids as you why you were dressed like that dead guy from that movie that came out like 10 yrs ago?
This is not the right decade for dressing like a wrestler since no one watches wrestling anymore. Even the few that still watch often pretend like they don't in public. Otherwise I'd go as ODB.
As a kid halloween was pretty fun - except typically it was too cold for whatever costume my mom had made. Yes, mom's should make costumes for their kids.
Now I don't like to dress up b/c my options at the store are the slutty nurse, or the slutty fairy, or the slutty witch, maybe a slutty ref, or even just a slut. Great choices. Don't they realize it's like 20 degrees on Oct 31 here in Kansas?
Last year was great. I got to be a total dork as the Giant and I were at Disney World on Halloween. I would love to do that again. I don't think we've made any real plans for this year though. All our friends seem to have infants and they want to take their infants out in cute little costumes rather than party.
Maybe I'll go to Rocky Horror if it's playing.

Nah. They just wanted the candy and then ran off the porch like little brats. No one really commented on my costume To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. .
But I agree on the whole wrestling thing. Doing the Draven/Sting getup was just the easiest thing I could think of. Plus I was like sixteen and thought it would sort of scare the kids. Either I just wasn't intimidating staring at them with a baseball bat or they're just really into candy and would wrestle a bear for it.

I dig Halloween, some friends are having a party, should be good times. Due to short funds this year, I'm going as mantracker. Because I have a beard, a cowboy hat (somewhere) and jeans. Good old lazy costumes. Hunter S Thompson was the lazy costume from 2 years ago.

Kids would kill, in front of their own mother, for a piece of candy. I've stopped giving out candy b/c of how mean the kids in my neighborhood were.
Zar - did you shave your head when you went as Hunter? The best would have been dressing like Hunter and carrying your own ashes and a little cannon to shoot them out of. But that's getting so detailed.
Maybe you should dress up like Walter (John Goodman's character) from the Big Lebowski. You could carry a coffee can with "Donny" written on it. All you need is a beard, glasses and a plaid shirt and a coffee can.

I won't be doing anything this year except working. Probably dealing with the new dbag training assistant store manager, Jesus. I don't know the guy, but ASM's don't last in my store very long. They all get driven up pretty quickly. But we're told he's only temporary until his trainings done

I was actually in the middle of growing a solid beard, so I was "bearded" Hunter S Thompson. I did shave my head to have his baldness though.
Not a big enough dude to look like Goodman, have thought about the dude before, but wearing a wig would be a pain in the ass.
