Just been offered a new job, more money, better conditions and a route out of my current career (mainly been managing manual labour (production/transport now going into office work). I know it does'nt mean too much to you guys but thought I'd share that.

How about I turn this into a topic, how are you guys doing in your careers? are you happy? is it a stepping stone? are you looking to stay in the same profession or diversify?

Nah.. I don't really know yet. The work I'm at right now I just do just to do.. I'm still going to school for business and teaching, about 2-3 years left of that depeding on how many classes I take at a time so we'll see.. I can't say I'm unhappy.

Yea, I'm all set where I'm at right now. The only shitty part is I have to wait until I go full time, so right now I'm making pretty pathetic money but more than what I was making before. But that should hopefully be within the next year. I doubt I will change companies but I may end up doing something else since they got a ton of different jobs I can bid for if I get sick of driving the bus after a while. Plus I can retire when I'm 43. I'm not complaining.

For me, no.

I've been unemployed since January and haven't had much of a sniff in the way of a job at the moment.

There doesn't seem to be that many jobs here and i was even turned down by Asda which was a bit of a kick in the balls.

But i'm sure things will look up soon enough.

First off, Congratulations K Jay. I hope it works out well for you.

I have been at the same job for five years. I was never supposed to be there this long. It is just a job in retail. But I am just working there while going to school, it is just taking a little longer than it should. I took some time off though when my dad got sick.

I still plan on finishing school though.

I am in the process of interviewing for a new job in Washington. I am all but to the step where they make me an offer and I relocate my family there.

My current job makes me happy but the pay is crap. With this new one I would have the best of both worlds.

A follow up to this thread, started this job 2 weeks back and because of it being a new facility and project it was a base employment of 17 individuals. Anyways the Team Coach/Co-ordinator pulled out before joining the company and because of my aptitude in training they've given me the posistion. It's the most individuals I've ever had working under me (directly) and being a new facility/campaign there is actually no-one above me on-site. Just got the posistion (and a hefty raise) on Friday and I'm well pysched about it.

Again not sure if that information means anything to you guys but I'm well pleased!!
