I wasn't sure whether to put this thread in entertainment or general, but yeah so I was looking at the TV guide the other day and I saw that Fireman Sam was showing. There was nothing else on so I ended up watching it, it was pretty 'lol' but I use to absoloutely love it as a kid; I even remember trying to bribe my mum with soft mints at one point so I could watch the show because she was watching Sally Jessy. I rarely, if ever, see shows like Clangers, Play Days, Out of the Box, Mr Ben, Brum, Polka Dot Shorts, etc on anymore, which is a shame really because they where blood brilliant back then, and kid shows today are pretty bad in comparison to the older stuff - which makes me glad I grew up with good kids shows, would be awful to grow up now. Anyway, favorite kid shows growing up? Are they still on TV now? Discuss.
One of my favorites was this show; To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. Watching the squirrells try to listen to other peoples convos with the cans was utter magic.

Holy shit, that's the plant guy who used to give me nightmares! I've been trying to remember what that show was for years.

Anybody remember Are you Afraid of the Dark? I use to own every episode to that thanks to Ebay, all the discs got scratched though. 'It's Sardo!'. Haha, absoloutely epic - it's annoying that Nick don't air the programme anymore, (here anyway), they use to when they head to head championship weeks. Goosebumps was another, the dog at the start with the green eyes use to scare the hell out of me. Brings back memories, I use to, and still do, love those shows.

I never watched Are You Afraid of the Dark but I used to get those Goosebumps books from the library, so I did have the TV-Y horror genre covered as a child xD.

Angry Beavers was indeed a great show. That was at the stage where I was starting to get out of cartoons (more because cartoons around that time SUCKED, not because I was getting older), but it was one of the better cartoons in that time period.
Yeah and I also watched DBZ.
I wonder how big of a chunk of my life I wasted just listening to:
RAAAAAAAARRRRAAAAAAHHHHAAAAAAAAYAAAAAAAAAH for fifteen minutes every episode, xD. No problem though, it opened me to other anime.

I think I forgot to mention Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh. I loved those shows to death. I would always try to get out of doing work so I could watch the new episodes every Sunday. Right when Yu-Gi-Oh was getting big is when the Pokemon show was starting wear thin on me, so it worked out perfectly. Honest to God, if I could find episodes from Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh I would probably buy them. I'd watch those shows if they were still on (meaning reruns, the new Pokemon can GTFO).
