It seems rather ridiculous in my opinion to be against it, but today I heard a lady (highly religious of course) who was saying that artificial insemination, invetro ... etc are all counter-acting the work of god. She basically says that if god made it so you can't have children, it is your duty to accept that, and if you truly want children, there are millions who are in orphanages. I can understand that; there are several million children around the world who need a good home, but adoption isn't for everyone. There's a pride thing, ya know?
There'll be no sorrow there, no more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no more pain, no more parting over there;
And forever I will be with the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
You could quite easily counter-argue that women's point by saying God also gave us the ability to create such treatments as this. I see nothing wrong with it.

I just heard prob the same thing Terry heard the other day.
Some lady on the radio was going on about how people should adopt versus this as there are more adopted kids that need help versus going through "unnatural means" to make more
...to me it's a personal decision. Some people try to read too much into these things when it comes to the bible.
God does not speak against it imo.

Yes, that is exactly what she was saying!
I mean, I understand her point, but I don't agree with it. It's not the people who are using unnatural means to get pregnant, who are putting the other children up for adoption. But the available-to-be-adopted-children also didn't decide to have their parents skip out on their lives either.
I wonder if this woman takes medicine when she gets sick. If she were to get a tumor or something else that could kill her without surgery, would she choose to die because that is what "God" intended?
I have no problem with artificial insemination. I think it's a waste of money (up to $10,000 per try and no guarantee of the woman getting pregnant), and I think they should adopt instead (and adopt a kid in your own country, not another country), but I have nothing against the procedure.

Well I feel the same way about it as I do abortion. I personally wouldn't do it for myself, but I certainly can't tell anybody else what to do with their bodies. If I was told I was barren I'd probably adopt because it's true that there are TONS of kids who need a family. I don't know if China still routinely murders their baby girls, but I would definately try for a chinese girl. Or a child from Africa, I think that little girl that Angelina Jolie adopted...Zahara is a BEAUTIFUL child. Of course church run adoption agencies are really picky. Some will not adopt to single parents, and most won't adopt to homosexual parents. So church people really ain't one to talk on the subject.
Of course both artificial insemination, and adoption cost ALOT of money.Moderation is key lest you end up like that Octo-Mom asshole(who, how she got away with what she did without a pot to piss in, and no means to feed those babies is beyond me) or those lunatics Jon & Kate(again I feel sorry for the kids).
I dont get this whole 'playing god' thing. As was said earlier, your playing god having a life saving operation, your playing god when you wear a condom, your playing god when you jump into your man made car and drive down the street. God also gave everyone free will... but these people somehow forget that.
Yeah. I was arguing with my mom about this the other day. She's completely against this and thinks scientists are playing God. If God really didn't want people to be doing this, I doubt he would've created it. So if a woman can't have a baby the natural way, then go get artificially inseminated. If you don't want to do that, then get a dog.
