I think it's pretty ridiculous. Most of these young marraiges happen due to stupidity, trying to rebel against their parents, or because of pregnancy.
It shows a lack of responsibility in young adults.
lolwut? How does it show a lack of responsiblity? If the government says that people can be married at *insert age here* obviously the government thinks the two are responsible enough. Besides, as proven by Hollywood, you can be married and divorced within minutes. No harm no foul.

Because they want to rise above the system. They want to rush things. Then where are they in five years? Realizing they made a mistake. Not taking the responsibility.

Or they are in love but can't work through the problems that a long-term commited relationship presents.
Or they are in love but change as people over time and the relationship cannot handle that.
Or they run into typical issues with each other but decide to get divorced rather than work through them because society has made divorce much less of a stigma and marriage no longer a permanent institution.
Every situation is different. I don't think its the kind of question where you can make blanket statements that is going to encompass everyone. Just like every individual is "unique', so is every relationship. Even the same relationship between the same two individuals happening a second time is going to be at least ever so slightly different from the first just because of the first relationship.
Maybe, maybe not. There have been people who have married their highschool sweethearts and are still married well up into their 80's. Teeth and hair falling out, gravity weight everything down. Shits just nasty, but they are still in love.

Well lets be fair here, a lot of young marriages come as a result of a pregnancy and neX can back up that claim quite easily, the male feels that it is the right thing to do to marry the girl that he is now having a child with whether it was supposed to happen or not. Now that to me shows responsibility and maturity and not the opposite, irresponsibility and immaturity would be running away from it which does happen sometimes for whatever reason.
Obviously young people can get married for the wrong reasons but people of all ages get married for the wrong reasons.. its hardly a sacred thing anymore.

Indeed, but in my case it would have been more responsible to have just paid child support. I'm a horrible father and I probably should have stayed the hell away from my daughter, much like my father did with me.
