Due to the death of Michael Jackson, I've heard on TV that congress is going to pass a bill taking away Vicodin (It's a pain killer for those who don't know.) off the shelves completely. Really? Just because he took WAY too many they're going to take away one of the pharmasudicals (sp?) that actually work? Come on..
Now I know my former forum followers pretty much know me as a parties, drug user, etc.. But I've stayed away from my past demons of xanax, and I rarely smoke (mainly due to my son getting older.) but one thing I need is the vicodin due to chronic back pain. People can say you can try a different pain killer, but honestly, the other ones on the market are really bad, even the one's you can get in the medicine isle. Vicodin on the other hand has a very, very low chance of addiction (mainly happens if you snort them, which is a retarded thing to do.) while other pain killers such as tramadol can hook you just from one dose.
My point is, just because one guy fucked up, you really shouldn't make people with actual pain suffer.
Vicodin has been tested by the FDA so many times it's unreal. They have even said that it is the only pain reliever, including medicine you can find at your local grocery store that's safe unless of course you snort them.
Average test for new drugs takes 8 years but you most of the testing on the final product is about 2-3 years and then you have no idea what long term side effects there are over a 20 year period.
But they pump them out in the name of "goodwill" so they can make a profit.

Every medication has long term side effects, including regular aspirin. No matter how you look at it, an ddict will always find a way to get their fix, even if it results into popping Bayer's or something.
I hace scoliosis, so it's hard for me just to get out of bed and I'm only 21. I wouldn't say I've become dependent on Vicodin, but they do take away the pain.
Plus, almost every other pain medication can cause a seizure.. Vicodin can't..
The way Michael Jackson died has a weird connection with me, because my aunt is exactly like Michael in the way he abused drugs and how he's just plain weird. Vicodin was one of my aunt's favorites until my mom finally knocked some sense into her, so I've always had a bit of a grudge with the drug. Still, some people are able to use it responsibly and really need it. And I am not in the favor of restricting what people can do with their bodies... So I really don't like this.
They need to stop worrying about things like this and just fix the fooking economy.

You really can't fault the drug for the users stupidity. That's like saying they are going to take aspirin off the shelf because someone took a bottle of them daily and died by chasing it one night with some Jack Daniels. It's not the drugs fault, it's the users. Some people actually need them. I stay away from them recreationally now, but when I need them for my back or whatever else, they work nice.
Surgery should be banned too, its clearly another thing Michael Jackson abused. Now I have to find another drug to get me all loopy. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
