I was interested in the hearings before they started, as public opinion and congressional polls made it seem as if her confirmation to the bench was not assured. But, after the first day of hearings, it was pretty obvious that she would be confirmed, although, personally, I don't think that she should be (constitutional originalist here). So, I skim over what's being said in the papers, but that's about it.
I really didn't understand this hearing, since it was Al Franken and some other senator asking really stupid questions and the South Carolina rep was being a complete douche bag. This showed how easliy the US can be taken as a joke.
