Our local oddball recently passed away.

He used to walk around the city centre with an empty coffee cup, trying to shake peoples hand and beg them for money, so he could go gambling.

The city centre isn't the same without him.

Johnny Welly man
(local tramp)

Johnny welly man is a well known tramp in the town of St Helens, he spends his time around St Helens town centre shouting at people, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I have often found him wandering around other places, such as the village I live in, one day he randomly appeared in a field when we were playing football, he just popped up from behind some crops.

He is known to walk from Warrington to St Helens, which is quite a while away for walking.

hes quite famous around Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
He was believed to be an urban legend untill he was locked up in 2001. he is one scary mother fucker. Im going to quote some things about him from Wikipedia.

He is pretty much one of the most infamous nut jobs of my area.
