I don't agree with it either. Suicide is an awful thing, and assisted suicide is no different than someone committing suicide themselves. If they're in that much pain, then perhaps they should put the person into a drug induced coma, but killing them is not acceptable.
I'm on the fence. On the one hand, I beleive all human life is precious and shouldn't be taken except under the most extreme circumstances, such as self defense. On the other hand, if I had to choose between living an utterly miserable existence with exactly no hope of improvement, I'd probably consider ending it. That is, if my friends an family supported my decision.

Well.....I resist giving my opinion in a lot of threads so they won't turn into people bashing religion. So I will try to reply and leave religion out of it.

No. I don't think it is. People can do whatever they want, but that doesn't mean it is right.
I am not the only one who thinks so either.

I don't see how turning someone into a vegetable is that much better.
If somebody wants to kill themselves that much, I don't have a problem with it.
I agree with Sam on this, I mean it would be the same as dying because the person would even be with you anymore, they wouldn't be doing anything only they would have to be looked after because their heart is still beating...
