The Best Way To Break Up With Someone??

Ive just been on a weeks holiday with my boyfriend of 4years and 8 months. On the first night i told him I didnt want to be together anymore - harsh I know but he knew it was coming and we'd been having problems for a while. He accepted it surprisingly well. i think Ive discovered a genius way to break up with someone. Lol

We had some rows and the holiday wasnt as good as could be (obviously!!) but we had a week away from other people to really chat about things and get used to the idea before being thrown back into the real world and having to face the gossip and scandal - it was good.

We parted this morning, aiming to be friends, who knows if that'll happen but Im gonna try.

Anyone else have any good break up ideas or stories to share?

Well, I just had a mutual breakup recently.. I know if you ever seen the show Seinfeld it's hard to believe, but it was really mutual.. The thing was that we were just too far apart in where we were headed with our lives.. long story..

but in short, we really like eachother but more as friends.. So, we had a talk and we aired everything out. I think that's the best way, you just sit down with your mate and you're honest about it. You explain what's wrong... and they should be understanding.

I hate drama. I can't stand it.. so we both figuered that it'd be the best way, if we want to stay friends, to just end the relationship now before we start hating eachother..

yeah, I kind of got the feeling that we'd become more like friends and were only still together out of habit. I realised I didnt miss him as much when we were apart and thats never a good sign. i dont think he was as aware of it as i was but now he's had a week to think it through and air our issues with each other he seems to agree, at least I hope he does and isnt just putting on a brave face cause I broke up with him.

Yeah, you never know. I wanted it to work out for a while with her, I think she wanted it to work out too, but we just aren't meant for eachother in that regard. We're more like really good friends then being in love..

well, we were in love, really deeply - everyone said we'd be married and blah blah blah but sometimes things dont work out, people drift apart,ummm, other people come into your lives.

That happening with me too. 18 months we were together. He was my first boyfriend as well, but it hadn't been working for about a year really. Then I went to Uni and got the confidence to say enough is enough. Oh, and I was in love with the smooth pimp o' love that is Half Boy.... :p

Well, thats understandable! lol

Its so hard saying it though, when hes kind of unaware that you think the problems youre having are affecting you to such a degree that you wanna end it. Oh well, whats done is done now.
