Chomsky is the man when it comes to media, you aren't having a discussion on media if you don't know who he is it is actually that simple.

He was the most cited man alive from 1980-1992.

Does the media control us? To some extent. That's the obvious answer, and I hold that it's the correct answer. Occam's razor and all that. It really depends on how gullible you are.

Still, I don't think it's right to think of the media as some omnipotent being that's constantly trying to corrupt us. As long as they keep me entertained with newspapers, television and DVDs, they can do what they like. Doesn't bother me.
