The US didn't get involved in the Armenian genocide either. And the only reason we got involved with the Jewish genocide is because Germany's ally Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. That was THE only reason. No one in America wanted to go to war again after The Great Depression. But like I stated above, without a direct attack on the US, you can almost guarantee US will not intervene.
I have a few other comments to make (and will), but I've gotta leave right away, so I only have the opportunity to touch upon this one.
If we do not get involved in the genocides occurring today, eventually we WILL be the ones who are being killed.
There is a VERY fine line we must tread here.
We waited far too long to enter WWII.
However we cannot act on every case of genocide.
While it is very noble to want to act in every case, it is simply not feasible.
Our military is simply not big enough alone.
If the UN or something like it would get involved it may work but there is no way we could handle it on our own. And of course we all know the current UN is a big joke.
So there is really nothing we can do about it without catastrophic consequences.

Yeah, there is simply no way we can help everyone. We're not the saviors of the world and no, we won't be okay if we try it. We're already in a economic crisis and fighting 2 wars. Like Dak said, if it was the UN intervening it would be different which brings us back to Suffy's point. Major world powers have interests in these counties and will veto the actions for help in the UN so the UN is out.

Actually, Germany during the time of the holocaust was civilized and was a major world power. Hitler united the country and was compared to FDR before he kicked his master plan into effect.
Tis what we wre taught in history class about WWII. Hitler was a great man who brought stability to Germany and made us a superpower. Though he did some horrid acts, though he honestly felt they were for the good of the German people.Wasnt till I moved to NA that I found out the rest of the world had a drastically different opinion of the man. As for the Holocausts, I dont know what happened there. I'm not even sure about the holocaust for the Jews, we're pretty much caught up on it when Germany invaded Russia and allied with Japan. As for todays Genocide, well the US is expected to stop it because they are the top superpower in the world and they have embassies in almost every country dont they? If the country wants to play the role of top dog, when a crisis comes up, they better get on it. The UN is a joke anyhow, they cant agree on anything.
