Obviously the Nazi one was completely different because it was in a civilized, western country. That's what made it so shocking.
I know terrible things are happening everywhere, but America and other countries can't really be world police all the time. Some countries are just fucked up.

I wouldn't consider Germany in the 20's-30's civilized they had mad hyperinflation and were on the verge of civil war.
The problem with the UN is simply the security council you have 5 countries, two of which are no longer releveant (england and france) who have the power to veto all action.
So wanna go into Sudan because of Darfur...can't China has oil interests they will veto it.
Enter Georgia?...nope veto Russia.

Actually, Germany during the time of the holocaust was civilized and was a major world power. Hitler united the country and was compared to FDR before he kicked his master plan into effect.

I think you guys are correct in saying that we shouldn't be the world police, but I do still feel that we have a deontological social duty to protect those who are not given the opportunity to protect themselves. Suffy, you do also make a great point that certain countries also have a interest that may not be in alignment with the rest of the worlds. Either way I think there's a lot more that we can, and should be doing.

Really? When did that become our responsibility? The problem with that is, it puts thousands of American lives at risk when we meddle in other countries' affairs, not to mention costing the tax payers millions of dollars. I definitely wouldn't want one of my family members to risk their life over a third world country's problem. Who was there to help us after 9/11? No one. So why should we?
One thing that was learned out of World War II was that we cant give into Hitlers (Dictators). I mean, sure there are people around the world being killed for whatever reason, but it is not threating us. No one is trying to take over the world like Hitler, no one in the United States or out Allies are are being threatened by these Holocausts in whatever country, so let us Americans do what Americans do best: Stay out of it until we get threatened somehow.
If you look at World War II, the US was Neutral until the bombing of Pearl Harbor, then we entered and it was all down hill for the Axis Powers...We have our own War, our own Economy, and our own problems to deal with right now than to go out and try to save the world.
Now, do I think that killing people for religous deals is good? No. Do I want it to end? Yes, but that has all got to wait. Our world of America has big issues at home, and it is time that we deal with our problems.

My WWE Universe NOC is UP! Check It Out! Credit and Thanks to: Doctor Doom for Banner. AWESOME DUDE!
Sorry, but I think ignoring genocide is inexcusable. Inexcusable not as Americans, but inexcusable as human beings. I'm hardly the sort of guy that thinks America should get involved in every little issue, but turning a blind eye to genocide is completely unacceptable. I don't care how many problems we have at home, we'll be alright. But not doing anything about genocide leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

If we got involved in every case of genocide, we would have all ready ceased to exist as a country.
