At that point it is highly doubtful they will "kill every pro-US person". By the look of the situation, the Government's reaction has only further the revolutionary thoughts, not scared them off.

The LAST thing in the world the U.S. needs is another war right now.
We are spread too thin as it is.
If we start shit with Iran or North Korea that will be the end for us.

Now if only we didnt have a pussy president, we could invade right now and get them damn fundementalists out and it would be justifiable. We need to do something.
You do that, and everyone in Iran will team up to fight the US. Let the internal cracks take care of themselves. Let's use our brains with this one.

Lol. Are you going to pay for this shit out of your pocket?

I cannot believe the lack of attention this is getting from main stream media. It's almost appalling that the only time CNN, Fox or MSNBC are giving this are some special 15 minute updates. We need specialists in the area, people like Nicolas Kristof, or Kevin Sites. Actually, I'd be happy with anyone to be honest. And really, we're looking at two things that practically world changing.
1.) Iran is possibly going to go through a revolution. This is entirely a common-folk driven revolution, and that's not something that has really been seen since the French revolution. The Iranian military also won't shoot their fellow Iranians, so the government has brought in Hezbollah to do it. This going to have a cascading effect, as now Hezbollah is going to be the enemy for the entire middle east. We're potentially looking at something like the fall of communism, only this is going to be the fall of dictatorships.
2.) Social media. This uprising would NEVER have existed if it weren't for sites like FriendFeed or Twitter. Not only is it allowing the Iranian people to connect, and organize these protests, but it's also allowing the world to stay informed about what is going on.
It is a very big thing indeed. Iranians are fighting for themselves and earning change. Even if they fail, the seeds of change will now be imbredded in them, so that there is either another violent revolution or a silent one (as seen in China since Tiamanen Square (sp?)).
If you research the history of Iran, you will see that the Islamic Revolution was a surprise to many. It was successful, because the people fought for it.
Wow, this BBC video gave me all kinds of chills... It's a standoff between the crowd and riot police, but watch to the very end when the police actually turn around and run away. The people yelling "Hurrah" at the end... moving.

It's amazing. I turn on CNN and I get... nothing. Letterman/Palin and other crap. Our news sources and media are worthless.
Anyways.. I'm proud of these people for standing up against their government. I don't want anyone to intervene. It'd be awesome if they regained control of their state by taking it to the streets.
I don't think anything is going to come from this.
Some people will get killed, some people will get put in jail, the others will become intimidated, and it will go back to how it always was.
