Hmmm it's tough to say, but if they are torturing people a lot of which are innocent it isn't the "American" way.
I trust someone like McCain (who has been tortured before) who said he doesnt support the torture of these people. And considering a lot of these people are actually innocent makes it even more wrong.
Bring them somewhere within the US. Not sure if mixing them into a general jail is right, but maybe create one for them in the United States.
Move them to American jails. The American prison system holds serial killers, cannibals, cult leaders, and everything in between. I dont think a terrorist in a maximum security prison is that much more of a threat to society from behind bars.
I'm okay with closing it, moving it, doing whatever with it, as long as they do it right. If they half ass, things aren't going to go well, and it simply will be a bad time for us.
I could care less whatever they are in. As long as they are locked up it's all good.
That's if they are guilty you mean.
Most of these men have not faced a trial or a fair trial.
Take Omar Khadr (I probably misspelt that) the only Western detainy left (Canadian born) was facing a military tribunal they shut it down though and he's been there for 6 years and was a 15 year old when he was taken prisoner by the Americans for "allegedly" killing an American medic, which has basically been disproven, but still held there even though he was a child soldier and it's against a treaty the US signed saying they will not hold child soldiers.
If they did shut it down and sent them to prisons in the U.S., they would not be in a normal prison population. Just like Richard Reid the shoebomber they would be held in a super max prison. They are locked in their cells for 23 hours a day.

There's been some talk of sending them to a New York facility, the super max prison in Trenton, Colorado only has one open bed so it's not like you can send a lot of people there.
