I'm Catholic since that's a little different from Christianity I believe.....If not then I'm Christian. I don't go to church often but I'm a realist also that doesn't get too caught up in the religious morality vs. right to choice debate.

Catholicism believes Jesus is the Son of God and The Messiah. Therefor, Catholicism is Christian.

I just wrote an exam on this today, so I will provide you all with a brief history theological rundown of the history of Christianity.
Christianity began as one large group who were what we would recognize as modern Catholics. The East-West Schism separated Roman Catholics from the Eastern Orthodox traditions, pitting Rome and Constantinople against each other as the two heads of Christianity. Then there were the Crusades, and the Inquisition. In the early Sixteenth century, Henry VIII broke away from the Papacy and created the church of England, aka the Anglican church. He did this because he wanted to divorce his wife and marry his mistress, and the Pope wouldn't grant him a divorce. The history of the Anglican church is awesome. Anyways, post-Crusader period, there was Protestant Reformation in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth century lead by Martin Luther. Protestantism continued to fragment, which is why there are so many groups today (Evangelists, Baptists, Mormons) particularly within the United States, because a lot of these groups traveled from Europe to establish a colony for their new religion. Basically, the main theological difference between Catholics and Protestants is that Protestants do not believe the Eucharist is the literal body and blood of Christ, and like the Orthodox faith, do not believe in the worship of idols (The Saints, and the Trinity).
On that note, I am a Catholic who disagrees with more or less everything out of the present Pope's mouth. I basically believe in God, and think we should just engage in charity and be decent people.
