Time Travel - Will it ever be possible?

I for one think that Time Travel is, and always will be impossible.

For one.. we have proof of this all around us. If time travel was possible in the future then horrible events wouldnt have happened in the past. Things like sept 11th wouldnt have happened because someone in the future will no doubt try to avert this disaster.. Hitler wouldnt have gotten to power.. etc

Another thing.. even if someone DID go back and stop Sept 11th from happening.. they wouldnt Need to go back in time to prevent it.. because it would have never have happened.

And dont start with that 'other dimension' or 'other planes of existence' nonsense because it will have no bearing on us whatsoever.


Does anyone wish to challenge this theory?

I agree. It makes no sense to me whatsoever. I don't see how they would have everyone go back in time to change some event, cuz then what do you travel back to the future. Shit is stupid

No, I don't think it's possible. I don't have any evidence I suppose but it just doesn't seem like something that could be done.. I think we'll someday have robots that do everything for us.. I think we'll find cures for different diseases, I think people will start to live 'til their 150 (for early proof see: DK), and I think we'll someday be able to travel to different galaxies.. But time travel? No..

From a science point of view, time travel itself is highly improbable, but if it could happen, it is widely believed you could only move forward in time, not backwards, a little like H G Wells' The Time Machine. It's likely this would occur mainly through freezing yourself to a specific moment in time, and allowing the World to move on in regular time around you. This would, of course, mean you'd have to be in a secure location that wouldn't be destroyed by anyone, and wouldn't be tampered with. You would then "awaken" a certain time later in the future.

I don't think that anyone will ever be able to travel back in time. I do think that it may be possible to travel to the future at some point. There is a lot of things in Space that we know nothing about so finding out more about what is up there could make it possible.

Time travel is not just possible it is going on all around us. The simple fact is "you" are living your life by choice "you" got fed up going back and re-doing every decision and "you" decided the only way to live is on the fly.

I think Einstein said it best when he said "Time Travel is impossible, but you could however invent something to see into the future" I can't find that quote myself, but that movie paycheck quoted him. Who knows if its true or not because how can you trust a man with a mug like this....

No, I don't think it's possible at all. But it would be pretty cool if you could. Risky though, because you could change a lot of important historical events for better and worse.
