I was baptized Catholic, but I really don't see faith as any comfort. I mean, sure, from time to time I catch myself praying to a god that I don't really believe in. But even in our darkest of times we want to believe someone is out there listening. If I'm proven wrong, oh well, I don't know the answers to everything. I just don't get anything out of religion.

I suppose so. I do disagree though. In our darkest times, we have to have faith in ourselves, before any supernatural deity that lives in his own world and remains apathetic about the day lives of 6 billion people. I mean, I don't want to have to rely on other people to help me out, get me through difficult situations, among other things. I would rather handle it myself, and if I need help, I will ask for it. I'm apathetic about politics and driven in my career because I didn't want to be poor and have to beg the government for money. Religion has a lot of politics. Same goes for God. I don't wanna be in a bad situation and have to rely on a miracle. Figure it out yourself.
