Well to all my Canadian Brethren out there the time is almost upon us, Parliament is back in session tomorrow and the budget shall be released on tuesday.
From what I've read on CBC there is 1 billion going toward workers on hard times and 2 billion going for public housing.
We are also going into a 30+ Billion deficit and that it's (according to the PMO) going to take 5 years to get out of.
So while just a few months ago Harper said he would not run a budget here we are undoing all the years of hardwork done by Paul Martin in a single budget because Harper was shortsighted and cut GST which personally I haven't noticed but the government sure has in lost revenue.
So what do you all think, will Iggy take it down or will he let is pass, because Layton has let it be known that he is voting against it along with Duceppe.

Well I laugh at the fact that the unholy alliance between the Liberals and NDP was to help the struggling workers survive through these hard times. Now they are about to vote down a motion that would do that. Im not a huge fan of a 30 billion dollar deficit, but something has to be done to help out the single families. People with low incomes cant take a pay cut and less hours to keep a job. Its not like taxes are going down either so now you have income going down and taxes staying the same, but we all know that soon they will be raised.
Right now I'd like to see the government pull out the important sectors to sure up our countries exporting future, mainly auto and oil, then worry about the future.
1. Layton has just shown he is incredibly power hungry, much of this budget is from the NDP "mock budget" and he is still saying without even seeing the budget he'll vote it down.
2. Harper is sooooo funny, he's putting 2 billion into social housing, who would have thought that Stephen Harper Mr. Right Wing would give money to social housing that goes against everything he believes in.

I think everyone but NDPs agreed that putting the Budget of Canada in the hands of Layton was probably a terrible idea. Especially considering the way the market is going now and days, NDPs just can't handle money.
I just want the whole thing to come to a head and see whos "really" Prime Minister.

"We are going to stimulate the economy by raising taxes. However, we will be giving families some tax cuts, which we expect them to put back into the economy instead of investing like we told them to do last year."
The next generation is so screwed. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Yeah, but I think at this point sooner is probably better then later. The stalemate there currently in isn't accomplishing anything productive, As much as I dislike parts of both sides (I hate harper, looooath Layton). It just needs to end, soon.

Layton just knows this is his one chance at power and he's going for it.
I like Iggy I did some research on the guy and I also read his book Blood and Belonging he is a very smart individual, I do have a few problems with him though.
1. He is inexperienced he's been in parliament for 3 years only, yes he's a Harvard scholar but none the less very inexperienced politician.
2. He supports torture, that is something that really really irks me. Torture is wrong and to think he supports some torture baffles me.
