My grandpa and grandma died when I was young never really got to know them, and my other grandpa and grandma had a farm back in the day, and I guess they're just hard workers?
my great-great grandfather was a part of some sort of Saxonian revolution, another great-great grandfather was a huge part of the immigration movement from Denmark to America. I don't know much about my mothers real family.

My great grandparents on my father side were slaves, on my mothers side they were slave owners. My grandfather was a cuban immigrant to Jamaica and my grandmother was a Middle Easter Jew. My grandmother took my mother to courts in hopes of forcing my mother to give me up to her. My grandfather was a medic in WW II. Some of the stories he told would curdle your blood. He was in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and nearly froze to death. He said there was a stretch where he didn't get to sleep for over 3 days.
He must not have told us all the really bad stories though, because he used to wake up screaming some nights, years after he'd come home.
