Sorry, I must have missed the thread or the memo or something, I wasn't aware staff suddenly decided to create a rule where no one can joke about the dead. Next time you make these swift nonsensical decisions could you kindly let us members know too? Quite hilarious seeing people being infracted and posts being deleted and edited just because they contain a joke or two about Michael Jackson. I just looked at the rules and I can't see any rule against making paedophile jokes about a paedophile. I wonder wether this rule extends beyond just Michael Jackson, will people also be infracted for speaking badly about Chris Benoit or Hitler, for example?

Also, before you decide to tell me to stfu and send a PM (or tell me leave because I have a complaint lololol), this thread would fall under the "feedback" part of the "Forum announcements & feedback". I would like to know when such a rule was implemented and why.

Really is tiring seeing posts and shouts deleted just because they contain jokes without any reason, I thought this place prided itself on being above Lionden standards?

1. No accusations were ever proven therefor he was not a paedophile despite what you may believe.
2. If you haven already been told to stop, and yet continue to push, you deserve to be infracted.
3. It's blatently disrespectful, If you didnt care for him, simply dont read the thread or reply. It's really quite easy to do.

1 and 3 aren't rules. Troy isn't a "convicted paedophile" nor is Nex a cannibal, are we no longer to makes jokes about them?

2 is the problem, there was no announcement about these rules, people have just been infracted and posts and shouts have been deleted and edited without no prior warning.

There's no definitive proof that MJ was a paedophile for starters, and some members may find some of the jokes being put out offensive.

Anything that can be offensive to certain members is always going to get closed down, and or, deleted, with the possibility of an infraction relatively obvious.

It was made pretty clear in the thread that MJ jokes were not to be made anyways, and if people couldn't see the huge font that Nicky put that in, then I dunno what's up with our memberbase's eyesight.

Anddddd, you have no idea how tiring it becomes to delete the posts, can really kill the enjoyment from a forum for staff.

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to essentially so that's the best I can come up with from what I know I'm afraid.

And it's pretty obvious, in the thread, it said to avoid MJ jokes or you'll be infracted, yet they persisted, and hence infractions. Simple surely?

I wasn't refering to the debacle the other night, rules were made clear in that one particular thread and that rule was followed after so.

Was refering more to posts in the embalming thread as well as a lot of shots in the sb being deleted and edited just because people made jokes about it.

There is a problem with the whole "it offends people" argeument. Again, how far is that going to extend, or is just people getting butthurt over Michael Jackson? It needs to be made clear and it never was.

If deleted posts, etc is tiring for staff they should probably stop doing it for no reason.

I thought what God said was a bit stupid and had to agree with Steventon there, but if the thread said "No jokes" (haven't gotten the chance to read it) then I don't think you should be complaining about post deletion and infractions.

Again though, I think the staff needs to be more clear with their rules.

Actually, no one was saying "I hope MJ burns in hell~!" or anything, simply making jokes. Bad taste? Perhaps, but again there is no rule against it.

The staff have the right to judge what's too obscene for this site. Comes with their powers.

We don't want any jokes in completely ill-taste, whether it be paedophilia, racism, necrophilia, or whatever, hence Number Nine racking up infractions like noone else can.

Apologies I guess if that isn't blatantly in the rules, but surely you guys have some common sense on what's too far?

While I personally don't enjoy reading jokes about the dead, especially aomeone who I respected as an artist, I have to take Steve's side. No one was warned that they'd be infracted or have posts deleted if they have jokes about Michael Jackson. Its been a problem with this forum for a while now. The explination I've been given is that even though it may not be against the rules, it is against the rules to be offensive, and if the administrators and their almighty power decide that it is offensive, then it is.

Stupid right.

But eh, guess we all have to get use to ridiculously retarted rules and the lack of definition of "offensive".
