I have recently noticed that there seems to be either a time limit on how long we have to edit a post, or a certain number of times we can edit a post.

Am I imagining things?

Also you can't delete your own posts? The other week I did a double post by mistake, and could not delete my second post. Any reason behind this?

One thing i read was people could make a post, wait until the thread got onto the second or third page then change their shout to advertize another site & only new members/late comers would see it.

Deleting is probably for arguements when someone realises they are wrong & rather than debate it they delete their post... or something....

BTW i dont actually know, but rather i'm just guessing.

We changed the time limit for edits due to abuse of the editing button. There were incidents of a couple members changing their old posts to mess up the forum pages and basically edited spam into all their old posts.

Also, not for nothing it defeats the purpose of a message board to edit out your thoughts days or weeks after you said them.

So yeah, its changed and you can no longer delete your own posts either. If there is an issue with double posting or something else please contact the moderator or the board you posted in. If there is no mod for that particular forum then please contact Tyler or one of the admins.
