Yeah there would be a backlash, but only in a symbolic sense. The supporters of abortion would speak out against the decision and what a travesty it is and that sort of thing. There is really nothing they could do if the Supreme Court over turned it. I am sure it is a nice thought to you that there would be some sort of wide scale outrage that would bring about a new decision legalizing it again, but it would not happen. As much as the opponents of Roe vs. Wade hated the decision when it was originally decided upon, there was really nothing that could be done about it. So you can have those illusions of grandeur in your head thinking something could really be done about it, or you can face the facts and realize if Roe vs. Wade is over turned that tables will just completely turn and it will be the liberals on the losing end with no viable options of opposition.

People are gonna get abortions whether its legal or not. Sure you'll cut down the numbers. I'd rather the women get safe procedures. I always worry about women who might self induce an abortion and I hope that doesn't increase.
As I said, I could never tell anyone to do with their lives and so I hate when others preach to me. It is my body, my ultimate property. I will always do what I want with it.

Yeah that is a big issue to take into consideration. I am sure if Roe vs. Wade were ever overturned there would be many illegal "clinics" set up to do abortions as well. There is not really a good answer to that but it still does not negate the fact that I think abortion is wrong. If Roe vs. Wade is overturned and women want to break the law and risk their life in an under equipped, unsanitary environment to end their pregnancy there is not much that can be done to stop them.

I just heard a girl in my hall performed her own abortion with a clothes hanger. That's just sick. And she was telling people about it.

I am personally against it, and I don't think I ever could. But it is a tough call, because I'm in school and have a lot going for me right now, and I wouldn't want to give my life up because I was pregnant. There is always adoptions, and there are tons of couples who would love a baby.

Just because I wouldn't have an abortion, doesen't mean that I have the right to say that others shouldn't. So I don't think it should be banned. It just infuriates me when people use it as birth control. Go on the pill if you hate condoms, it's one little pill a day!

So the other choice would be that much easier? I'm sure there are a lot of cold hearted people out there that could have an abortion and never think about again. But there are those that have abortions that live to regret and it causes much emotional distress to them.

This is the way I look at it: For every decision you make in life there is a consequence. You must accept the responsiblities of those actions.

So if a woman decides to have sex, the consequence is that there is a chance she will become pregnant. She must accept those consequences. She has three choices:

1. Give birth to the baby and keep it.
2. Give birth to the baby and give it up for adoption or something of the sort.
3. Abort the baby.

Any of these choices will change her life forever.

People also don't consider that when a lot of women have abortions, it hinders their ability to ever have kids again. A lot of women that cannot concieve now had an abortion when they were younger.

I'm talking political backlash. There was political backlash in some Southern areas when it was decided before, if it were to be overturned (which is highly unlikely) then there would be backlash from the otherside, as you are somewhat saying. But the important thing to remember is that about 3/4 of the country is pro-choice.

Would you please provide statistics on that please? I think those numbers are off.
