Rep Power: 88   gXboxLive Leaderboard: 41st | Need Help Downloading Media? Ok guys. I have had several requests for "How do I download stuff off Monks?" I want to show you how as easily as possible..... First, most media you find on here is in AVI, WMV format, but are often split up and uploaded in .rar files. All this means is that it was easier to upload, more importantly free, nothing more complicated than that.. The trick is that you need a special program to 'extract' the files. You can download it for free HERE. Once the trial period ends, simply click "close" when it tells you its not a free software. All files are hosted on a web hosting websites such as MegaUpload , RapidShare and others. Check those sites out to get a little familar with the sites. I must say that if you get familar with how to download and like viewing from your pc Ok. Here we go. Lets use an example media post..... Taken from LOST Season 3 thread You will see there are 4 links Rapidshare links below to episode 1. Episode 1 http://rapidshare.de/files/35581270/...xx.part1.r ar http://rapidshare.de/files/35584116/...xx.part2.r ar http://rapidshare.de/files/35586985/...xx.part3.r ar http://rapidshare.de/files/35588857/...xx.part4.r ar __________________ You will need to download ALL of these files for the show to work at all. Now click a link. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of that new page. Click on free or premium ( I HIGHLY recommend Premium). You will then be given a link to download again at the bottom of the page. (Pick the first one of the 2 links) Then make sure you have a Folder in your computer that you are sure where it is. Often times people download material and can't freaking find where they put it. I recommend making a new folder and shortcutting it to your desktop. Once you have downloaded all 4 files, you will go to the folder where you placed them. Double click on any of the icons that appear in your new folder. The WinRar program will now start. Click "Close" or "ok" to access the program. You should see the one folder that you double clicked. Now click "up folder" right above the file. You will now see all 4 files that you downloaded. Hold down 'control' on your keyboard and highlight all 4 files with your mouse. While all the files are highlighted click "Extract" above. It will ask you where you want them to go. Click the same folder that you downloaded them in originally. (optional where you put it, just easier to keep it all together) It will then extract and combine all the files and will 'ding' when done. Once you know its done, close that program and go to that folder again. You file should be ready to use with any updated Windows Media Player. Click HERE to download the latest version of Windows Media Player if the file will not play. That should do it. Let me know if you guys and gals have any questions.
