They wont be much for a couple years still. Money certainly isn't everything to players, they will have to have to show some success to attract the players that they probably are aiming for. Money doesn't always buy you trophies, look at Real Madrid over the last few years >.>

From what I hear they could be offering up to £400,000 per week for world class players, any player given this offer cannot refuse surely.
Yeah...maybe to the average player. The players who they are going to be going for are probably already loaded and don't need all the money...plus they are making bank at their current club and it's most likely more prestigious.
I highly doubt the economy is really affecting the big stars of Europe to make them want to go to a "lower class" club for more money.

To be fair I never really thought of it this way, but from 110k to 400k is a huge difference and you're only a football on average until you're 32-37 years old and it isn't like there is a pension system.
I can see some big names going at least.
On a plus, its a well known fact that big name players cant play on the same team (Gerrard and Lampard for example) so they will fail, the owners will leave and City will be left debt ridden.

Much like a little known London club by the name of Arsenal soon enough then? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Something tells me someone can have their family survive on £110k a week, for the rest of their life. If they go to a club, just for the money, and not for success, they're just greedy tbh.
I think they need to look at young and upcoming stars instead of already established ones. I'm not saying pick up 17 and 18 year olds or anything, but the likes of Aguero would be a great signing for them.

There is a very large difference between 110k and 400k though and as I have said I'm sure the odd 1 or 2 will join City.
Youth is an approach that would be brilliant if City bought the right players.

I understand that 110k and 400k is a large difference, but I don't think top quality players really put money ahead of winning things that much. I mean, they'll be happy to stay at a club that is going to win them things for 110k or whatever a week. It's not like that's peanuts or anything.
Can you realistically see Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, Cesc, or Torres ever moving to City when they're not winning things? Cause I know I sure can't.
Also, I doubt they're actually willing to pay anyone 400k a week anyways. That's what, £20m a year? I'm not so sure anyone's willing to put that much money into one player.
