Following his departure last week, Keegan claimed it was the signing of players without his consent that forced him to quit St James' Park.

However, Zico is adamant there would be no such acrimony were he in charge.

"The Newcastle job is one that I would be very interested in taking. It would be a privilege and an honour," he told the Daily Mail.

"I've always wanted to experience the Premier League as I believe I could enjoy much success coaching in England.

"I am used to working alongside technical directors so this isn't an issue for me. It's normal for me to work in those conditions."

Why anyone would want the Newcastle job is beyond me. The club is beyond a joke at this stage.

I agree, I am a Newcastle fan myself and I have been discraced by the club from the last couple of weeks.

Like you said, who would really want to manage Newcastle at this point in time?

Is money so important to someone like Zico that he's willing to make himself look like a joke having Dennis Wise telling him which players to buy.

One would have thought that these guys had saved enough money to be able to afford some self respect

Once we get the joke of a chairman Ashley out, we could also get rid of Wise meaning we could build on from there.

We just need Kev back!
