I actually meant to make this thread a few weeks ago, but ah well! This thread is for any of us who are going to (or have been to) any games during the course of the season. Tell us where your going, post your pics, and your thoughts about the match.
This is not just for Football, it can be for Rugby, Basketball, Ice hockey, Cricket, Gaelic Football and Hurling (for our friends across the Irish Sea)… whatever you go and see.
Mikk, you can kick us off with your visit to the Stadium of Light.
Well yesterdays match was my 2nd this season {went to the Ajax game too} and i'm very impressed with the players Keane has brought in.
Diouf is outstanding and so is Malbranque, Chimbonda and Taino both did fine.
I'm not happy with our lack of firepower though, we do need another striker as Daryl Murphy yesterday was shocking.
Diouf pretty much ran the front line while Murphy just stood around and watched the game go by.
I hope Jones recovers quickly as he is desperately needed along with someone else upfront.
Also i am considering going down to london next weekend and watching Spurs vs Sunderland To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I think you should Mikk! Away games are always much better.
I need to get myself along to some more football matches this season. Might try and fit a few in before the rugby season. Doubt I'll go down to Swansea for Wales vs. Georgia in midweek, but I'm gunna try and watch Cardiff vs. Norwich next weekend. I have to get myself down to Ninian Park a few times this season, considering it's the last season there.

If i don't get to the spurs game, i'll certainly be at a different away game this season.

I have now started my sporting season. This weekend I attended two matches:
Cardiff Blues 43 – 13 Northampton Saints
With the rugby season starting next week, it was important for the Blues to have a run out, and blow away the cobwebs. Not a bad performance from the Blues, the score line doesn’t really matter, because we changed our whole team at half time, and the Saints were up against it having to deal with 15 fresh pairs of lungs.
Hereford United 2 – 0 Crew Alexandra
Rugby is what I usually watch on a Saturday afternoon, but this season I’m going to try and go to as many football matches as possible. Also I like going to new grounds, so with Hereford only being an hour away I thought why not?
Not a bad game. Crew had most of the possession in the first half, and were unlucky to have a goal disallowed. Hereford came back in it towards the end of the first half, and then early in the second half they capitalised on their dominance with a brilliant 25 yard strike from Stephen O’Leary. The Bulls doubled their lead not long after, with a guy who’s name is too long and too difficult for me to remember!
Next weekend will be another busy one, two games in one day, Wales vs. Azerbaijan and Cardiff Blues vs. Leinster. Well, that’s if I’m well enough after having my wisdom teeth out on Thursday! (*fingers crossed*)

I'll be at the Cardiff v Birmingham game later this month Phantom. I'll be incognito mind as I'll most likely be in the Bob Bank trying desperately not to cheer when the mighty Blues spank their arses

You'll be fine... I think you'll be trying to hide your fustration more than cheering on your Blues.
3 Games this weekend, but no pictures….
Wales 1 – 0 Azerbaijan
This wasn’t a pretty game. We lacked creativity, and drive. It seems that most of our players are too afraid to shoot! Even though the keeper was a mile off his line for the Koumas penalty, he probably would have saved it any way. Ever since his penalty against San Marino, Koumas doesn’t fill me with confidence when he steps up to the spot (if you haven’t seen it, YouTube it).
Gareth Bale and Chris Gunter were our best players. Bale was head and shoulders above the rest. Although at times, it looked as though he was trying to win the game all by himself. Next up is Russia on Wednesday… I’m scare. I think I’ll be watching from behind the sofa!!
Cardiff Blues 16 – 16 Leinster
Blues came up against the defending champions in the first game of the season, and to be honest, we should have won this one. The Blues couldn’t kill Leinster off when it mattered, which allowed them back into the game when their Kiwi full back slipped through for a try. Hopefully our performance was more of a blowing the cob webs of pre season away – than a preview to the rest of the season. Next up for us is The Ospreys on Tuesday night. We need to be more clinical in that match, otherwise I’ll be coming away from there a very sad person!
Cardiff Devils 0 – 2 Sheffield Steelers
Well my teams got a win and a draw, so this had to be a loss to give me the full set. It’s been a few years since I’ve been down to watch the Devils, but now I’m not working Sunday evenings I may venture down once in a while. The Steelers looked the better side throughout and deserved their 0-2 win. The best part of the evening came with 25 seconds left of the 3rd period, not 1, not 2, but 3 fights broke out, which lasted about 10mins. Awesome stuff. It really got the crowd pumped. Any one else here follow British Ice Hockey
This weeks games: Tuesday: Ospreys vs. Blues (Liberty Stadium), Friday: Blues vs. Ulster (Arms Park), Saturday: Newport vs. Cardiff (Rodney Parade)
Going to Motherwell to follow Celtic on Saturday not the best start to the season so far but none the less we will bounce hopefully with a good performance on saturday

How was it? Sounded like a good game from the match reports I heard on the radio?
My reports of my disspointing week of sport will be up as soon as I upload my pictures to photobucket.
