Blackburn Rovers have wasted little time in starting their search for Mark Hughes' replacement.
The Welshman left Ewood Park on Wednesday to take the reins at Premier League rivals Manchester City, ending a four-year association with Rovers.
Blackburn are keen to get a new manager in place as soon as possible and have already begun identifying potential candidates.
Hughes has helped to establish Rovers as a top flight club and any incoming coach will have a talented squad with which to work.
Blackburn chairman John Williams has paid tribute to job done by their former boss, but admits that they cannot allow themselves to dwell on the achievements of the past.
"We have enjoyed a first-class, mutually beneficial relationship with Mark," Williams told the club's official website.

I'm still scratching my head as to why he left in the first place. He's taken Blackburn further than anyone could expect and moved from a secure job to somewhere where they're worse off and the chairman has an itchy trigger finger

Being a Blackburn fan as i am, the whole mark Huges leaving thing does puzzle me as he has a secure job here (he doesnt at City), so its probably purely the money factor. As far as a replacement goes, I dont want Sam to take over, anyone else would be ok.
