Skysports:Former England star Paul Gascoigne has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Gascoigne has hit the headlines over recent weeks following a succession of much publicised problems in his private life.
And Hertfordshire Police confirmed on Monday that the ex-Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, and Rangers midfielder has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act following an incident in Hemel Hempstead at the weekend.
A Hertfordshire force spokesman said: "Police were called just after 12.30pm on Sunday following a report that a 42-year-old man had approached a member of the public who was unknown to him, appearing unwell and in an agitated state in Hemel Hempstead.
"Officers arrived and accompanied the man to hospital so he could be checked over.
"He was sectioned under the Mental Health Act."
Gascoigne, who made 57 appearances for England and scored 10 international goals, was previously sectioned under the Act in February.
He spent more than a fortnight at Middleton St George Hospital, in Darlington, Co Durham, before being released.
Gascoigne also spent time with Middlesbrough, Everton and Burnley during his playing career.
This Sounds not at all good.
