Re: The Euro 2008 Thread
I'll probably support my "usual" overseas teams at tournos that, for no particular reason, I just have always liked to watch. Namely Holland, and France. I think it's an 80's thing!
I'll go on record to say no British teams = no interest
I would say that, however I'm ancient enough to remember the 1984 European Championships, which was the most incredible tournament in terms of football quality I've ever seen.
Weren't Republic of Ireland in 1994 World Cup? Yes, I know they aren't British technically, but I'm sure some Brits would have shown an interest in their games.
Anyways, Spain and Netherlands are probably the two most exciting teams in this year's Championship so I'll go with one of them as the winners, hopefully Spain, they've got to actually perform in a competition (in recent memory) sometime, right?
No doubt Italy or Germany will win it though.

Well you answered your own question there didn't you!
Having seen Germany in the qualifications they looked pretty good. Schweinsteiger makes them tick, as well as Ballack (who's back to full fitness now), they will be a force.
The Netherlands won't get out of the group stage. France and Italy should be the top two in that group. I watched the Netherlands against Wales today, and they should of hammered us, but they didn't make the most of their chances, and that's going to be vital, as they won't have that many against France or the Azzuri.
Spain always underachieve, so they aren't going to win it. Portugal have a chance. Big Phil will want to make a mends for their failure 4 years ago, as well as wanting to finish his reign with a trophy.
I dont think it needs to be. The tournament starts on Saturday so the thread wont go far. If the thread is used a lot over the course of the tournament then i will sticky.
